FIGARO+ is an enhanced implementation of the ANSI/ISO Programmer'sHierarchical Interactive Graphics System (PHIGS). FIGARO+ is used forboth 2-D and 3-D graphics. FIGARO+ uses customized workstationcontrollers to provide tight integration with its environment. For the XWindow System, FIGARO+ X workstation controller gives toolkit-independent(OPEN LOOK and Motif) tightly integrated support. For workstationenvironments with graphics accelerators, the workstation controller takesadvantage of hardware acceleration for functions like lighting, shading,translating, and rotating.FIGARO+, is the only truly portable commercial implementation of thePHIGS standard. It runs source code compatible across all majorworkstation Platforms, including i386/486 personal computers, mainframes,and supercomputers.FIGARO+ is ideal for graphics and visualization applications forscientific and engineering in all industries including aerospace,chemical and pharmaceutical, and oil specific needs of developers inthese industries. Extensions provide such capabilities as immediate modegraphics, application definable markers, post-to-view, and specializedquick-update methods.
